RON PELICOT DIED Saturday 29th January 2005. From injuries received in a car accident

Ronald Pelicot - Lead Guitar & Vocals

Ron is the Hot Rod Band’s musical director, the man who keeps the boys on the "straight and narrow".

He was born in New York but was raised in Puerto Rico. He started playing guitar at the age of 8 and by the time he was 15 he was teaching guitar classes at the Puerto Rico Music Academy. During his teen years, and to finance his university education, Ron played in the bands of a number of famous Spanish singers such as Sofy, Flor de Loto, Julio Angel and Los Nuevos Diamiates. He also performed in TV shows, concerts and festivals. Ron’s musical influences include B.B. King, Chicago, Chic Corea and Jimmy Hendrix.

When Ron reached his late twenties he found that his personal life and career ambitions in the electronics industry conflicted with his music and he put down his guitar for some years. After the untimely death of his wife, however, Ron returned to his first love, music, and together with George Orr formed the Hot Rod Band.
